C2W Consulting works with a wide range of clients. Here are a few examples of the kinds of projects we get involved with.
Crown Estate Scotland, Asset Management
Crown Estate Scotland engaged C2W Consulting to create a new process which would allow others to take on the management of assets in Scotland. Following engagement and consultation with community organisations, local authorities and others on the structure and design of the scheme, the application process was launched in the summer of 2018. The aim was to enable Crown Estate Scotland to work with others to test different methods of managing assets, empowering communities and giving people more say in decisions that impact the land, foreshore and sea near where they live.
This approach to asset management was novel to Crown Estate Scotland needed to be co-designed with affected communities and organisations as well as the staff who were to implement it.
The final process attracted more than a dozen applications, four of which are currently going through due diligence and are at ‘preferred project’ status.
Marine Biosecurity Planning – Loch Fyne, Argyll
C2W Consulting has an excellent track record in marine biosecurity planning, having led the work on the Scottish, Welsh and English Biosecurity Planning Guidance. We recently delivered the Loch Creran Biosecurity Plan, and the Loch Fyne Plan for Marine Scotland and have previously provided biosecurity training to ABP Ports, Natural Resources Wales and delivered aspects of the RAPID life alien species programme throughout the UK.
We are aware of the need for the biosecurity planning process to be handled sensitively. C2W’s approach is considerate of the potential social, economic and environmental impacts and we will treat all interactions with stakeholders with the confidentiality necessary to ensure trust is developed.
Sullom Voe Master Plan, Shetland
Shetland Islands Council wished to create a spatial plan for the Sullom Voe and Yell Sound area of north mainland following a shift in patterns of use. The master plan needed to nest within the Shetland Islands Marine Spatial Plan and be designed in partnership with affected sectors and communities. Throughout the winter C2W Consulting worked locally, running engagement events, surveys, workshops and 1-2-1 sessions to ensure all voices were heard and all evidence considered, finally creating a master plan which everyone felt a part of.
C2W Consulting has undertaken a number of contracts for Zero Waste Scotland including:
- chairing the review of the National Litter Strategy,
- facilitation of the Expert Panel on Environmental Charging and Other Measures (EPECOM), including stakeholder workshops and,
- facilitation of the Pellet Loss group.
